About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Strategic Development Lead to join our team at AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter. As a key member of our advancement team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic plans to drive major gift fundraising and sponsorship activities.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and experience in managing complex projects, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and driving results-oriented strategies. Your ability to think critically, collaborate effectively, and communicate persuasively will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute annual strategic plans for major giving unit, including projections for dollars raised, visits, stewardship activities, and performance metrics.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Establish internal policies and operating procedures, monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, and provide input to capital and university-wide fundraising campaigns.
  • Fundraising Strategies: Develop and implement fundraising strategies for ASU/university-wide funding priorities, working collaboratively with team members and counsel.
  • Talent Management: Supervise development officers, direct management activities, and ensure resources are in place for ongoing mentorship and professional development.
  • Donor Relations: Work collaboratively within Advancement to move prospects through the pipeline, promote the needs of the unit at fundraising events, and build/reinforce base & pipeline for major and principal gifts prospects and donors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree an asset, preferably from a reputable institution.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification.
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, and human resource management.
  • Proven track record of leadership and experience in managing complex projects and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
