Job Description

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Engineering division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing transportation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transportation projects, including design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and public transportation systems.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and community members, to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and present project reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in project delivery.
Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in transportation project management, including experience with transportation infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle.
