About the Role


BC Children's & Women's Health Centre is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our patients and families.



Duties:



  • Schedule and book patient appointments and follow-up appointments, ensuring accurate and timely communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Register patients upon arrival, verifying their demographic information and communicating with appropriate parties as necessary.
  • Process referrals, gathering additional information and performing data entry as required.
  • Maintain accurate records, including data entry, log sheets, and patient statistics.
  • Type and distribute various documents, such as correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Provide receptionist duties, answering phones, responding to inquiries, and greeting patients and families.
  • Support the Senior Director and department by booking meetings, filing, routing paperwork, and completing other general administrative tasks.


Requirements:



  • Grade 12 and two years of recent experience in a related role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and maintain confidentiality.
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
