About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Expert to join our team at McCain Foods. This is a full-time position located in Toronto HQ or Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada.



Job Summary:

The Regulatory Compliance Expert will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance of our products in the Canadian market. This includes interpreting legislation requirements, developing and maintaining procedures to approve product formulas, ingredients, labels, and marketing material, and liaising with global and regional regulatory contacts.



Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product compliance with Canadian food legislation and guidelines;
  • Develop and maintain procedures for product approval;
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to review export/import requirements;
  • Conduct regulatory risk assessments and advocate for training initiatives;
  • Monitor regional regulatory environment changes and communicate impact to the team;
  • Participate in Technical Committees of Trade Associations for the Canadian Market and establish working relationships with Canadian regulatory authorities.


Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science or related technical discipline;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within a large global food manufacturing organization;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Regulatory Affairs in Canada, including product marketing claims substantiation and labelling information.

Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 CAD, depending on experience.
