About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at 2818532 Ontario Inc. as a key member of our culinary staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and train a team of 5-10 kitchen staff, including cooks and other kitchen personnel.
  • Culinary Expertise
    • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets and corporate functions.
    • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
    • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies.
    • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Leadership skills.
    • Flexibility and adaptability.
    • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
    • Organized and reliable.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail and quality of food preparation.

Language

The primary language of work is English.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is 30 to 35 hours per week.
