Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. This includes patient reception and registration, order entry, film and report filing, telephone reception, bookings, and communication with physicians, staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical functions to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Perform data entry tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Office administration diploma from a recognized college or recent relevant clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in Diagnostic Imaging is an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a comparable position.
  • Medical terminology certificate is required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Minimum of 30 wpm typing speed is required.
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills are essential.
  • Experience using patient-related databases, Meditech.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and function independently in a busy environment.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Able to diplomatically respond to inquiries from staff, volunteers, patients, family members, and members of the general public.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language.
  • Physically able to perform the job, including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and pushing and pulling various equipment.
  • Availability for shifts on short notice.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
