Benefits Administrator

First Student is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to support the administration of our health and welfare plans. This role will be responsible for providing second-tier employee service, performing audits and inquiries, and acting as an informal resource for colleagues.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits and provide accurate information
- Assist with the administration of state and company disability plans
- Perform routine audits of health and welfare plans to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Identify and resolve eligibility and pricing setup issues
- Review collective bargaining agreements to ensure benefits are set up correctly
- Perform specialized data requests and analyze data to identify key issues and patterns
- Respond to requests from locations and other internal departments on benefits-related inquiries
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Full proficiency in job-related training and considerable work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Employee Benefits functions with basic working knowledge of retirement plan administration and compliance
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention to detail skills with an emphasis on quality control of data
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing to all levels of organization and external customers
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including pivot tables and V lookups
