Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Coordinator to join our team at First Student. As a Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our employees, ensuring the smooth administration of our health and welfare plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely resolutions to benefits-related issues.
  • Assist with the administration of state and company disability plans, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Perform routine audits and reviews of benefits plans, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Payroll and Benefit Administration Center, to ensure seamless benefits administration.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and ensure benefits setup is accurate and compliant.
  • Provide specialized data requests and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Identify and address key issues and patterns in benefits data, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, locations, and internal departments on benefits-related inquiries.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Full proficiency in job-related training and considerable work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Employee Benefits functions, with a basic working knowledge of retirement plan administration and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention to detail skills, with an emphasis on quality control of data.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing to all levels of organization and external customers.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including pivot tables and V lookups.
