Job Title: Director, Procurement Canada

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Procurement Canada to join our team at Sysco. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement function and developing strategies to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  2. Lead the Sysco Canada Procurement Managers and inventory planning team to collaborate with Operations, National & Local Sales, & Merchandising.
  3. Support creation and execute the vision of the procurement learning & development plan.
  4. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
  5. Implement procurement technologies and automation to improve efficiency.
  6. Collaborate with the Field Merchandising team to manage aged and obsolete inventory.
  7. Create strategies to control obsolete inventory and product spoilage.
  8. Monitor Purchase Price Variances (PPV) and manage inventory strategically.
  9. Conduct overall procurement root cause analysis and corrective action.
  10. Support VP, Procurement in communicating relevant inventory and service information.
  11. Collaborate with the Director of Logistics to achieve the LEI plan for Sysco Canada.
  12. Comply with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures.
  13. Drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance.
  14. Enable, champion and embrace an inclusive culture.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of five (5) years Management experience in retail or foodservice.
  2. A minimum of seven (7+) years job related experience in a merchandising or sales/marketing role.
  3. Experience in demand planning and inbound supply chain management required.
  4. Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field, Master's degree preferred.
  5. Formal certification in procurement preferred.
  6. Ability to build high performing teams and manage conflict.
  7. Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.
  8. Adapts to change and is seen as a change champion.
  9. Exposure to procurement software and data analyzing tools.
  10. Intermediate expertise with Microsoft Office products.
  11. A valid driver's license in good standing required.
  12. Negotiation skills to reach outcomes that gain support.
  13. Knowledge of AS400, DPR, and Tableau an asset.
