Collage HR is a renowned construction company with over half a century of experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead our construction management team. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the administrative demands of the project from pre-construction budgeting and scheduling to procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, project turnover, and contract closeouts.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of work experience in construction project management and possess a degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. They should also have current WHMIS certification and fall protection training.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and the candidate's qualifications.

About the Role:

  1. Lead the project team to ensure successful project delivery.
  2. Assist the Vice President in working with all departments including estimating, scheduling, procurement, labor relations, finance, accounting, and other services as required.
  3. Develop and implement project bidding strategies.
  4. Participate in contract negotiations.
  5. Collaborate with the project Superintendent to develop a logistics plan.
  6. Coordinate and integrate the activities of the project team.
  7. Establish priorities for the project staff based on owner and project requirements.
  8. Review and approve major purchase orders, change orders, and contractor/vendor requisitions.
  9. Establish regular meetings with contractors and the design team to review project progress.
  10. Monitor contractor/vendor pending costs.
  11. Review and approve project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports.
  12. Ensure the owner is apprised of all deviations from the project baseline data.
  13. Coordinate with the Vice President on client business-related contact/correspondences.
  14. Conduct monthly project/client meetings to review project progress and address issues.
  15. Obtain approvals from the client for changes to the project.
  16. Prepare and submit the final project report and prompt closeout of subcontracts.
  17. Obtain the client's acceptance of the work and sign-off for the completed project.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in construction project management.
  3. Current WHMIS certification and fall protection training.
  4. Working knowledge of scope of work covered by contracts.
  5. Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards, and project-related activities.
  6. Management skills and administrative experience.
  7. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
