The Link is a dynamic organization dedicated to supporting youth and families in the province of Manitoba. With over 15 diverse programs, we strive to create a community of caring staff who work together to provide vital services through a 24-hour crisis line, youth resource centers, emergency shelters, mobile crisis teams, specialized foster care, healing homes, job readiness supports, and Skills4Life.

As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a crucial role in leading the routine functions of the team, including recruitment and retention, performance management, administering leaves, workplace investigations, and enforcing company policies and practices while ensuring legal compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director to understand and execute the organization's human resources and talent strategy related to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Human Resources team, management, and other staff when complex, sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Coordinate and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administer or coordinate the administration of human resource programs, services, and tactics, including compensation, benefits, leave, employee/labour relations, disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs, develop best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends, creating reports with metrics from the HRIS system for review by the Director and leadership team.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations, recommending modifications to policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, applying this knowledge and communicating changes in policy, practice, and resources to the Director.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR team in all relevant HR functions to support the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPHR designation required.
  • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience supervising and evaluating the work of others, providing leadership to subordinate staff.
  • Proven experience in leading change initiatives.

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $85,000 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Work Location: Head Office - 175 Mayfair Avenue, with some travel required.

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
