Job Title: Patient Care Assistant - Clinical Resource Team

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Assistant assists with the provision of clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated health care provider and supports a safe and caring environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the provision of clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated health care provider.
  • Support a safe and caring environment for patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.
  • Current certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
  • One-year experience in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within the classification.
  • Previous experience working in hospital, long-term care, or complex continuing care experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
  • Received training in management of responsive behaviors (Gentle Persuasive Approach training) is preferred.

Working Conditions:

This position is represented by OPSEU. You may be required to work at any site of Mackenzie Health.
