Mackenzie Health Patient Care Assistant
Permanent Part Time
Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to provide clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated healthcare provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the provision of clinical support care to patients in a long-term care setting.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide emotional support and empathy to patients and their families.
- Participate in patient-centered care initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
- Perform essential duties of the job with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Model behavior that aligns with Mackenzie Health's values of Excellence, Leadership, and Empathy.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.
- One-year experience in a healthcare environment.
- Current certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
- Previous experience working as a Patient Care Assistant in a long-term care setting.
- Experience working with the elderly.
- Knowledge of patient-centered care.
- Proven attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience within the Patient Care Assistant classification.
