Mackenzie Health Patient Care Assistant
Permanent Part Time
Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to provide clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated healthcare provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care and support services in a long-term care setting.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and report patient vital signs and changes in condition.
- Assist with medication administration and documentation.
- Participate in patient-centered care planning and implementation.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide emotional support and empathy to patients and families.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Adhere to Mackenzie Health's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.
- One-year experience in a healthcare environment.
- Current certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
- Previous experience working as a Patient Care Assistant in a long-term care setting.
- Experience working with the elderly.
- Knowledge of patient-centered care.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience within the Patient Care Assistant classification.
