Job Summary

The Clinical Support Care Specialist assists with the provision of clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated healthcare provider and supports a safe and caring environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with the provision of clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated healthcare provider.
  • Supports a safe and caring environment for patients.
  • Works collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Assists with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges.
  • Provides emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Participates in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.
  • Current certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
  • One-year experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital, long-term care, or complex continuing care setting as a Patient Care Assistant.
  • Received training in management of responsive behaviors (Gentle Persuasive Approach training) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within the classification.
  • Previous experience working in hospital, long-term care, or complex continuing care experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
