Planning Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planning Manager to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Planning, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Team, you will be responsible for leading our planning efforts and overseeing a wide range of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning team and oversee the development of proposals, projects, and business financials.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the planning team, aligning with business unit strategy and working with the leadership team to achieve goals.
- Manage and oversee a variety of projects, taking on different roles and responsibilities as needed to achieve positive outcomes.
- Support business development activities, including bid preparation, pricing, and content development.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules, identifying risks early on and managing them effectively.
- Support mentorship and motivate the team to deliver high-quality results that meet WSP's standards.
- Interact with external stakeholders, clients, the public, politicians, and colleagues with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- A university degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, or Public Policy, Geography, or a similar field.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in municipal or environmental planning, with a demonstrated knowledge of land use planning legislation and policy.
- Demonstrated public consultation experience, including facilitating stakeholder and public meetings.
- Strong project management experience with complex municipal or land development planning projects.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, query, analyze, and communicate information effectively.
- Full Membership, or eligibility for Full Membership, of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
