Job Title: Planning Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planning Manager to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Planning, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Team, you will be responsible for leading the planning team, overseeing proposals, projects, team development and growth, and business financials.

About the Role:
  • Lead the planning team and provide strategic direction to achieve business unit strategy
  • Manage and oversee a wide variety of interesting and diverse projects, including land use planning, urban design, and environmental planning
  • Support business development activities, including bid preparation, pricing, and content development
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, and identify risks early on to ensure effective management
  • Support mentorship and motivate the team to achieve high-quality deliverables that meet WSP's standards
Requirements:
  • University degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, or Public Policy, Geography, or a similar field
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in municipal or environmental planning, with a demonstrated knowledge of land use planning legislation and policy
  • Demonstrated public consultation experience, including facilitating stakeholder and public meetings
  • Strong project management experience with complex municipal or land development planning projects
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, query, analyze, and effectively communicate information
  • Full Membership, or eligibility for Full Membership, of the Canadian Institute of Planners
