Job Title: Capital Planner

Join the Manitoba Government as a Capital Planner and contribute to the delivery of capital projects that drive growth and development in the province.

About the Role:

The Capital Planner will provide expertise in the assessment, prioritization, and recommendation of capital projects, as well as support the development, monitoring, and management of capital plans for selected client departments within a capital portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and prioritize capital projects to ensure alignment with government priorities and objectives
  • Develop and maintain capital plans for client departments, including project scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on capital planning and project management best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address project risks and issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field, such as project management, engineering, architecture, or business administration
  • Extensive experience in capital planning and/or project management, including design and construction, contract management, and managing interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong planning, research, and analytical skills to identify and integrate relevant information into action plans
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet competing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
