About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planning Manager to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Planning, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Team, you will be responsible for leading our planning efforts and overseeing a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning team and oversee the development of planning projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Identify and pursue business growth opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the planning team, aligning with business unit strategy and goals.
  • Manage and oversee a diverse range of projects, including land use planning, urban design, and municipal projects.
  • Support business development activities, including bid preparation, pricing, and content development.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, identifying risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Support the development and mentorship of team members, promoting a culture of excellence and quality.
Requirements
  • University degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, or Public Policy, Geography, or a similar field.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in municipal or environmental planning, with a strong understanding of land use planning legislation and policy.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and time management skills.
  • Strong project management experience, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Full Membership, or eligibility for Full Membership, of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
