Rehabilitation Assistant

As a Rehabilitation Assistant with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a vital role in the patient care team, working collaboratively with therapists to provide safe and proficient interventions for individuals coping with limitations in movement and daily function.
About YouWe are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong educational background in Rehabilitation Assistant Program, including both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a strong ability to manage changing staffing and caseload levels.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver interventions assigned by therapists to patients with movement and daily function limitations
- Check and clean equipment, maintain treatment and storage areas, and order necessary supplies
- Work collaboratively with the patient care team to provide comprehensive care
- Grade 12 or GED
- Rehabilitation Assistant Program (Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Demonstrate basic computer skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Access to reliable transportation
