Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our patient care team, you will work collaboratively with therapists to provide safe and proficient delivery of interventions for patients with movement and daily function limitations.
About the Opportunity:
- Under the direction of the Manager, and under the supervision of therapists, the Rehabilitation Assistant will work with individuals, families, and groups to educate and promote movement, occupation, and function.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of interventions assigned by the therapists for patients coping with limitations in movement and daily function.
- The Rehabilitation Assistant will also check and clean equipment, maintain treatment and storage areas, and may order necessary supplies.
- The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.
About You:
- Grade 12 or GED
- Rehabilitation Assistant Program (which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Ability to communicate well with both patients and their families and staff
- Good interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with team members
- Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Demonstrate basic computer skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Access to reliable transportation
Hours:
- Long Assignment, Part-Time Position; 60 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits:
$25.95 Hourly
The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
