Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room department at Fort St. John Hospital. As a Perioperative Nursing Specialist, you will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective care delivery
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and medical history
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in perioperative care
Requirements
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
  • One year recent experience in the Operating Room/Post-Anesthetic Room
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Demonstrated physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
