We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and psychological needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients during surgical procedures, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Supervise and direct nursing and non-nursing staff as needed, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in perioperative nursing.
- Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- One year of recent experience in the Operating Room/Post-Anesthetic Room.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
- Demonstrated physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting patients as needed.
