We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Perianesthesia Nursing Specialist, you will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and provide education and training to nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the perioperative setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Develop and implement education programs for nursing staff on perianesthesia nursing care and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Operating Room Head Nurse to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and nursing practice.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to perianesthesia nursing care.
- Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- One year recent experience in the Operating Room/Post-Anesthetic Room.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively.
- Demonstrated physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment such as blood pressure and oxygen saturation monitor, hydrotherapy blanket, operative instruments, endoscopes and scope washer.
- Demonstrated knowledge of specialized procedures and techniques such as scrub, circulating and Post-Anesthetic and Endoscope Room nursing care.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of aseptic technique.
