**Role Overview**

Clinical Oncology Nurse Specialists play a vital role in providing holistic care to cancer patients at BC Cancer. This position is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct patient care to oncology patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans that address their physical, emotional, and social needs.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assess patients' medical and nursing histories to identify their unique needs and develop personalized care plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and treatment
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients' reactions and responses
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all interactions and interventions
  • Participate in education and training programs to stay up-to-date on the latest cancer treatments and care practices

**Requirements**

  • Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution
  • Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
  • At least one year of recent experience in clinical oncology nursing or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
