Specialty Pharma Nurse Leader

The Specialty Pharma Nurse - Clinic Lead is a critical role in delivering and monitoring specialized infusion or injectable pharmacological treatments in the home or clinic setting. As a leader, you will be responsible for ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by maintaining effective communication with the Specialty Nursing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:- Nursing Care Plans: Develop and review individualized nursing care plans that cater to each patient's needs.
- Patient Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive patient health assessments and medication administration teaching.
- IV Access and Medication Administration: Obtain IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.) and prepare and administer specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments.
- Patient Care and Observation: Provide patient care by utilizing skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and reporting any adverse events to immediate supervisors or stakeholders.
- Clinic Maintenance: Ensure the clinic is maintained to Bayshore Specialty Nursing Services standards.
- Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Act as a resource to other Infusion Nurses by providing support and direction as needed.
- Nursing Education: Graduated from an accredited nursing education program with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.
- Licensure and Certifications: Current registration and in good standing with provincial nursing regulatory body; current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification; current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification an asset.
- Experience: Experience in acute care and/or administering specialty pharmaceuticals; experience with home care an asset; critical care, infusion clinic, or oncology experience preferred.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional peripheral IV initiation skills; ability to manage relationships with exceptional customer service; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
