We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer in Victoria, BC.

About the Role:

This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our oncology department. As a Senior Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based nursing practices, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and promoting excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans, utilizing clinical knowledge and expertise.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care transitions and coordinate treatment planning.
  • Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as prescribed, while monitoring patient reactions and adjusting care plans accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and policies.
  • Foster open communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams, addressing concerns and promoting education on cancer care and treatment options.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • At least one year of recent experience in oncology or a related field, demonstrating strong clinical skills and leadership potential.
  • Current CPR certification and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
