About the Role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Archaeologist and Indigenous Relations Specialist to join our team in BC. The successful candidate will lead archaeological field programs, develop project proposals, and consult with Indigenous communities on archaeology projects located on Treaty Lands, Traditional Territories, Reserve Lands, Crown Lands, or privately owned lands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, and run archaeological field programs, including consultation with Indigenous communities
  • Develop project proposals and lead the growth of our archaeological portfolios
  • Write technical archaeological assessment reports
  • Assist with project budget and schedule management, internal and external document control, and project records
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of archaeological programs and services
  • Consult with Indigenous Peoples and communities in B.C. on archaeology projects, including developing consultation plans and identifying mitigation and accommodation measures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or technical diploma in archaeology
  • 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to hold a permit to complete archaeological assessments in one or more B.C. Culture Areas
  • Experience with Indigenous consultation and engagement in B.C.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
