The Interior Health Authority is seeking a dynamic Psychiatrist to join their team in Kamloops. This 3-month locum position offers the opportunity to work in two dynamic programs, providing inpatient care to individuals and their families as well as outpatient consultation.
Job SummaryThis full-time Locum position is divided amongst two sites: Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and Community MHSU Clinic. As a Psychiatrist in this role, you will provide comprehensive care to clients through collaboration with Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Nurses, Physicians, and others.
About the Role- You will be working in the Emergency Department and Acute Psychiatric Unit at RIH, providing acute psychiatric services to a range of individuals and families from throughout the Interior Health West region.
- In the Community MHSU Clinic, you will offer clinical services to people living in Kamloops and surrounding areas, including intake services, clinical care through multiple clinic programs, and Telehealth opportunities to our more rural communities.
- Provide inpatient care to individuals and their families in the Acute Psychiatric Unit at RIH.
- Offer outpatient consultation services through the Community MHSU Clinic.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Participate in quality improvement and program development activities.
- Teach medical students and family practice residents, given your appointment through UBC Department of Psychiatry.
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC).
- Doctorate in Medicine.
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License.
The estimated gross income for this position is approximately $250,000 - $300,000 per annum, based on fee-for-service and sessional rates. The actual salary will depend on the individual's level of experience and qualifications.
