Lead Psychiatrist in Addiction Treatment

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and Kamloops Mental Health and Substance Use (KMHSU). As an integral part of the addictions treatment team, you will have the opportunity to apply your unparalleled expertise and profound compassion to help navigate the complexities of addiction.
Estimated Salary:$250,000 - $300,000 per year
This is a competitive salary based on the cost of living in Kamloops, British Columbia, and the level of experience required for this role. With flexible scheduling, relocation funding available, and a comprehensive benefits package, we offer an attractive compensation and benefits program.
Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) serves as the primary referral centre for nearly 250,000 individuals within the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Area. Our teams dedicate themselves to delivering comprehensive care across a broad spectrum of services, including psychiatry, pediatrics, anesthesia, radiology, urology, and family practice inpatient care.
You will be responsible for mentoring peers, medical undergraduates, postgraduate Family Practice residents, and participants in the UBC–Okanagan Psychiatry program. Your dedication to educational excellence will shine as you work with our exceptional teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing individualized care and support to patients struggling with addiction
- Mentoring peers and medical students in psychiatric care
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License
- A Provisional Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Mandatory membership
- An Eligible Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
