Job Title: Bookkeeper/Office Administrator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to join our team at the Manitoba Association of Optometrists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing administrative support to our office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all bookkeeping duties in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Maintain accurate and detailed membership reports and files
  • Handle all invoicing, billings, and collections
  • Ensure all accounting principles are maintained according to MAO guidelines
  • Audit, track, and monitor membership data, professional development, certification, and document security
  • Organize and prioritize association files and documents
  • Provide assistance to team members on multiple projects
Qualifications:
  • Secondary education is an asset, but experience will be considered
  • At least 35 years of experience as a bookkeeper, office administrator, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient in accounting software, including QuickBooks and MS Office
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment is an asset
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of all records
  • Positive attitude and a can-do approach
