Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to join our team at the Manitoba Association of Optometrists. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing administrative support to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Provide all bookkeeping duties in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Membership Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed membership reports and files.
  • Accounting and Invoicing: Handle all invoicing, billings, and collections, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and Association guidelines.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Audit, track, and monitor membership data, professional development, certification, and document security according to Association regulatory standards and practices.
  • Administrative Support: Organize and prioritize association files and documents, and provide assistance to team members on multiple projects.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Secondary education is an asset, but experience will be considered.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience as a bookkeeper, office administrator, or similar role.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, effective communication skills, proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and MS Office, and experience working in a regulatory environment.
  • Personal Qualities: High attention to detail and accuracy, ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of all records, and a positive attitude.
