Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Post Anesthetic Recovery department at the University Hospital of Northern BC.

As a Perianesthesia Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management and in accordance with the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia standards.

The program begins with the 14-hour AACN Essentials of ECG and Dysrhythmia Monitoring. MOPAN follows with a 4-week theory portion using a blend of evidence-based online learning modules, virtual touch base to review, skills labs, and simulation to introduce learners to perianesthesia nursing. REPAN includes Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), which provide essential and valuable knowledge and skills to prepare learners to anticipate and provide safe patient care in the perianesthesia care setting.

Successful candidates will be expected to complete Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months following course completion.
