Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for identifying, planning, compiling, and delivering training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope. You will also be responsible for compiling, implementing, and evaluating general and unit-specific Orientation and Education programs for the staff. Additionally, you will facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of the department's preceptorship/mentorship programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, compile, and deliver training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope.
• Compile, implement, and evaluate general and unit-specific Orientation and Education programs for the staff.
• Facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of the department's preceptorship/mentorship programs.
• Participate in the on-going review and revision of patient care standards, policies, and procedures and coordinate the in-service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff.
• Support Emergency department education needs, with a primary focus on go health and specialty education.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus three years' recent related experience and two years' formal experience in adult teaching/learning and curriculum development; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Three to five years' experience in the area of clinical focus.
• Current practicing registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Current CPR certification.

• Assessment and Intervention – Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions.
• Ability to operate related equipment, including proven ability to utilize computer technology.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
