Job Title: Bar Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Manager to join our team at HI Port Hawkesbury. As a Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bar, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Enforce provincial and territorial liquor legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of bar supplies, including liquor, beer, and other beverages.
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies, ensuring the best possible prices and quality.
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation, promoting our bar and services to attract new customers.
  • Lead and instruct individuals, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and a positive work environment.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests.
  • Manage events, including weddings, parties, and other special occasions, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and exceptional customer service.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Work under pressure, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in fast-paced environments.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of bar operations.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent standing and walking required.
  • Standing for extended periods, with regular breaks to rest and recharge.

Experience:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bar or hospitality environment, with a strong focus on customer service and operations management.
  • Permanent position, with a minimum of 30 to 35 hours per week.
  • Language of work: English.
