At Conwest Contracting Ltd., we are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Asset Management to join our team. This senior leadership role requires a strong background in construction safety management, with a focus on heavy civil construction industry practices and processes.

About the Role

This is a highly visible position that involves developing and implementing corporate HSE strategies, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable HSE regulations and standards, conducting regular audits and inspections, and managing risks associated with workplace health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Manage risks associated with workplace health and safety, including development and implementation of risk management frameworks.
  • Provide training and development programs to ensure all managers, project teams, and personnel are knowledgeable and competent in relevant practices and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in construction safety management, preferably with a focus on heavy civil construction industry practices and processes. They should possess a strong knowledge of Canadian/BC HSE regulations, WCB requirements, standards, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educated in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE management systems and software.
  • Proven track record of successful HSE strategy development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing to a senior level.
  • High ethics, tact, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence.
