About the Role

At JMJ Evolution Inc., we are seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Aviation Safety and Quality professionals, championing the aviation Safety Management System, and promoting a positive safety culture.

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation, with at least 3 years in a safety critical leadership role. They must have expert knowledge of TCCA and H&S legislation, as well as operational risk management.

In this roleyouwill:

  • Lead a team ofAviation Safety and Quality professionals to meet the safety goalsand outputs defined by AviationLeadership.
  • Champion theaviation Safety Management System (SMS) and a positive and engagedsafety culture through the leading and development of safetypromotion education andtraining.
  • Lead theimplementation of HSEQ policies to the aviation Business Unitsderived from the overarching Babcock and appropriate Governmentalpolicies and identify initiatives to maintain and improvestandards.
  • Lead theoperation of the Safety Management System including continualimprovement managing corrective remedial and preventative action inrelation to thesystem.
  • Provideresourcing guidance to the aviation leadership for Safety andQuality programs andinitiatives.
  • Lead the Qualityand Safety audit program ensuring audits are completed and recordedand findings are appropriately disseminated andactioned.
  • Promote and leadthe implementation and effective use of company safety systems andprograms such as but not limited to Operational Safety Cases BowTie methodologies Synergy Life andothers.
  • Lead and directthe appropriate investigation of safetyrelated matters and make anynecessary reports to the relevant authorities as required byregulations.
  • Ensure theinvestigation analyzing and identifying of the cause or probablecause of all hazards incidents and accidents identified under theSMS.
  • Lead theactioning and distribution of accident incident and occurrencereports.
  • Liaise with andadvise all personnel through meetings and base visits on mattersconcerning Quality andSafety.
  • Conduct specialprojects as part of the leadership team for enhancingorganisational and operationalsafety.
  • Advise theAviation Leadership Team on appropriate strategic safety objectivesand changes to safetypolicy.
  • MonitorsTransport Canada regulatory changes monitors HSEQ legislationchanges and ensures appropriate action is taken when changesoccur.
  • Lead thedevelopment and monitoring of meaningful leading and lagging safetyperformance indicators for the aviationoperations.
  • Ensure allcustomer standards and certification requirements aremaintained.
  • Establish andmaintain positive relationships with applicable customers andregulatoryagencies.
  • Provide HSEQrelated SME advice for the development of commercialtenders.
  • Ensure effectivepeople management of direct reports to enable the team to deliverthe business outcomes effectively aspracticable.
  • Lead the reviewdevelopment and coordination of Emergency ResponsePlanning.
  • Champion thereview process for both Safety and Quality programs through theeffective use of SQAGs SQRBs and othertools.
  • Otherresponsibilities as advised by the Aviation LeadershipTeam.

This position offers a competitive salary, between $100,000 and $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
