About the Role:
Foothills Medical Centre, a leading acute care hospital in Calgary, Alberta, seeks an experienced Psychologist II to join its interdisciplinary team. This advanced level position offers a unique opportunity to provide clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area, working with patients who have complex medical, psychological, and interpersonal needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced clinical services, including psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention, consultation, and education to interprofessional teams and patients/families
- Lead, facilitate, and participate in program development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement, and evaluation activities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure evidence-based practices align with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, policy, legislation, and regulations
- Supervise doctoral-level psychology residents, master's-level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists, and other team members
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program
- Active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
- PhD in Psychology from a recognized educational program
- BLS for Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification issued within the last 12 months prior to commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an acute care setting or health psychology
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
