About the Opportunity

The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care by ensuring the proper cleaning and sterilization of medical devices. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and sterilize medical devices according to established protocols and procedures
  • Rotate throughout the decontamination area, processing area, and distribution area to meet the needs of departmental customers
  • Make up and distribute case carts and other sterile items to internal and external partners/clients
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless operations and maintain a safe working environment
About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in medical device reprocessing. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized medical device reprocessing education program
  • Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CMDRT) certification
  • Experience with instrumentation, medical knowledge, and terminology, infection control, and sterile processing practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
What We Offer

Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and travel insurance, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. This is a long-term assignment with a 60% FTE and 45 hours bi-weekly. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
