Strategic HR Systems Director

The Director, HR Systems and Optimization enables the successful delivery of strategic priorities through established functional HCM architecture standards, principles, and roadmaps. This role is responsible for optimizing HR processes and systems, fostering a collaborative culture, and driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and customer service excellence.
This is a hybrid work arrangement located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario, offering an exceptional balance between work and personal life.
- Implement, configure, and optimize HR technology systems, including HCM, talent management, payroll, recruiting, time tracking, and other relevant tools, ensuring seamless integration and maximum efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process automation within HR functions to increase efficiency and reduce manual work, utilizing data analytics and industry best practices.
- Prioritize, assess, and communicate enhancements that improve the employee and HR user experience, gathering feedback and implementing changes accordingly.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and adoption, engaging stakeholders and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Manage the budget, review functional performance, and ensure Service level targets are met, maintaining a high level of transparency and accountability.
- Build and maintain professional partnerships with internal business partners and support internal customers effectively, providing timely and informed decision-making support.
- Leverage data and analytics to develop new insights into the functions, inform strategy, and drive improvement initiatives, fostering a data-driven culture.
- Continuously seek ways to improve services, satisfaction, and communication, soliciting feedback from employees and stakeholders.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality, applying industry best practices and market research.
- Lead direct reports with clear performance expectations and targets, establishing and ensuring accountability, and providing regular coaching and feedback, promoting growth and development.
- Identify skills and/or knowledge gaps within the team, including succession planning for key roles, proactively addressing potential issues and opportunities.
