Job Description

The Senior Manager, HR Solutions & Systems will be responsible for day-to-day management of their technical team to meet delivery commitments on projects, backlog and issues aligned with Extendicare's strategic priorities. This is a critical role supporting Extendicare's HR transformation journey and evolution.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Builds and manages a high-performing team of IT professionals focused on technical delivery, solutioning, design, execution, and ongoing support for Workday HCM platform, specifically Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence.
  2. Builds strong relationships and trust, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration and an agile delivery mindset to drive results.
  3. As a strong collaborator, proactively engages and drives stakeholders to provide feedback on product strategies and technical solutions that support our internal program partners and employees.
  4. Demonstrates thought leadership leading and facilitating cross-functional ideation, innovation, and problem-solving, to drive the portfolio towards actionable deliverables.
  5. Anticipates and remediates project bottlenecks and blockers in short term and long-term work to ensure smooth operation of their team.
  6. Bridges the gap between strategy and execution by setting targets and corresponding operational plans.
  7. Is a technical expert with Workday Payroll or Time Tracking, understanding complex configurations and concepts such as collective agreements, multiple unions, etc., and supports solutioning to complex requirements.
  8. Anchors accountability with the team to showcase the value they provide through metrics and reporting.
  9. Understands and discusses technical concepts, manages trade-offs, and prioritizes meeting delivery deadlines.
  10. Leads by example, demonstrating integrity, creativity, and enthusiasm in achieving results directly.
  11. Establishes and maintains a network of relationships with other Workday user groups in the Healthcare industry, and vendor partners.
  12. Acts independently with a low level of supervision. Possesses the ability to determine when to escalate broader impacting decisions to senior management.
  13. Makes decisions where results have critical impact across the organization requiring sophisticated solutions and long-term correction.
  14. Collaborate with the security team to implement integrations and maintain proper access controls.
  15. Fosters a culture of teamwork, collaboration, agility, and culture of engagement.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, Health-related fields, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  2. Workday certified with 5+ years of experience with Unions and Collective Agreements configuration.
  3. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing IT professionals
  4. Experience and expertise in leading and managing information technology portfolios and implementing complex broad-based IT systems.
  5. Ability to apply specific agile practices, sprints to expedite delivery.
  6. Excellent knowledge of project delivery practices in a matrix environment.
  7. Excellent knowledge of SDLC.
  8. Experience with healthcare integration projects.
  9. Knowledge of user centric design and innovation.
  10. Experience managing simultaneous projects from initiation to completion.
  11. Strong leadership, motivation, and interpersonal skills and an adept team builder who is action oriented, with a record of accomplishment of motivating his/her team to achieve higher goals and improving the impact of technology initiatives.
  12. Effective presentation skills and the ability to present material to large technical and non-technical audiences.
