Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker - Building to join our team at Super 8 by Wyndham. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel, motel, and resort properties.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
- Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
- Housekeeping: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Advertising and Administration: Advertise vacancy and balance rent roll.
- Contractor Management: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
- Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances.
- Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks.
- Customer Service: Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants and supervise other workers.
- Physical Demands: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair, water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, and work with minimal supervision.
- Winter Maintenance: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
- Accessibility: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Cross-Cultural Training: Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
- Youth Support: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Veteran Support: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
- Indigenous Support: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Mature Worker Support: Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
- Visible Minority Support: Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
