We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker, Building to join our team at Days Inn. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's maintenance and repair functions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris from the hotel's premises.
- Empty trash cans and waste containers and ensure the hotel's grounds are kept clean and tidy.
- Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain the hotel's appearance.
- Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Advertise vacancies and assist with the recruitment process.
- Balance rent rolls and manage the hotel's financial transactions.
- Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the hotel's establishment.
- Perform safety and security checks to ensure the hotel's premises are secure.
- Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants and provide excellent customer service.
- Supervise other workers and ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
- Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain the hotel's grounds.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete tasks efficiently.
- Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
- Dependability and a strong work ethic.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
