Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of early childhood services in our province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Licensing and Monitoring
    • Support early learning and childcare facilities in preparing for licensing and designation
    • Conduct unscheduled monitoring inspections to address concerns impacting the safety and well-being of children
    • Issue orders for compliance or recommend suspension or revocation of licenses
  • Enhancing Quality of Services
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of services provided
    • Evaluate the implementation of curriculum frameworks and quality improvement plans
    • Provide coaching and support to administrators and educators to enhance the quality of services
  • Conducting Investigations
    • Conduct preliminary discussions and gather information in response to complaints and incidents
    • Conduct investigations into complaints assessed as low to moderate risk to the safety and security of children
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or Social Sciences
    • Minimum of four years related experience, with two years in early childhood
  • Language Proficiency
    • Written and spoken competence in English and French
    • Level 3 (advanced) language proficiency required
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
