Quality Assurance Monitor

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking a Quality Assurance Monitor to join the Early Learning and Childcare Services branch in the Moncton region.

About the Role

The Quality Assurance Monitor will work with a team of Inspectors/Investigators to support early learning and childcare facilities in achieving and exceeding the requirements of the Early Childhood Services Act.

Key Responsibilities
  • Licensing, Designation and Monitoring Inspections:
    • Support operators in preparing for licensing and/or designation to ensure all conditions are met.
    • Conduct unscheduled monitoring inspections to address immediate concerns impacting the safety, security and well-being of children.
    • Issue orders for compliance or recommend suspension or revoking of licenses.
    • Assess the quality of the learning environment and provide support to administrators and educators.
  • Enhancing Quality of Services:
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of services provided.
    • Evaluate the implementation of the curriculum framework and quality improvement plans.
    • Observe pedagogy approaches, review materials and resources, and provide coaching and support when required.
    • Identify and facilitate the assistance and support of specialists within the Department as needed.
  • Conducts Investigations into Complaints:
    • Conduct preliminary discussions and gather information in response to complaints and incidents.
    • Conduct investigations into complaints assessed as low to moderate risk to the safety and security of children.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or Social Sciences and a minimum of four (4) years related experience.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
  • Level 3 (advanced) language proficiency is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interpretation and reinforcement of legislation and/or conducting inspections/investigations.
  • Experience and knowledge in early childhood programs and services.
  • Certificate of Completion - NB Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework or Curriculum éducatif pour la petite enfance francophone du Nouveau-Brunswick.
