Key Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end payroll processing: Handle the complete payroll cycle for Calian employees, including processing pay, leave, and entitlements accurately and on time.
  • Support updates and improvements to the payroll system, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Handle payroll inquiries: Identify and respond to payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies promptly and maintaining positive relationships with employees.
  • Special payroll runs: Prepare and execute special payroll runs as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the SAP payroll system to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate during audits: Follow policies and collaborate with auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of payroll practices.
  • Ensure that Calian's payroll practices adhere to all relevant CRA and Provincial government regulations.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in SAP and strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation.
  • Possession of or active progress towards a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
