About the Opportunity

The J.W. McConnell Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to support the work of the Reconciliation focus area. As a Program Officer, Reconciliation, you will play a key role in integrating reconciliation into various aspects of our work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Director, Reconciliation in forecasting, communicating, and operationalizing the reconciliation objectives and commitments of the Foundation.
  • Coordinate end-to-end administration of the funding process for the Reconciliation focus area, supporting the reception, review, and follow-ups of granting applications.
  • Interact with community partners with integrity as a representative of the Foundation, its values, and its commitment to reconciliation, exploring new possibilities to implement the spirit and intent of reconciliation in Canada.

Requirements:

  • Functional bilingualism with excellent oral and written skills in English or French.
  • Experience with and understanding of non-profit organizations and community-led initiatives.
  • 3-4 years' experience in program support and/or administration.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous frameworks and practices.
  • Availability and willingness to travel.

  • Experience facilitating and coordinating groups.
  • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks and processes.
