Community Development Officer, Reconciliation Initiative

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Development Officer to support our reconciliation focus area. The successful candidate will play a key support role in integrating reconciliation into various elements of our work.
Key Responsibilities- Program Support: Assist the Program Director, Reconciliation in forecasting, communicating, and operationalizing the reconciliation objectives and commitments of the Foundation.
- Administration: Coordinate end-to-end administration of funding process for the reconciliation focus area, supporting the reception, review, and follow-ups of granting applications.
- Collaboration and Representation: Interact with community partners with integrity as a representative of the Foundation, its values, and its commitment to reconciliation by exploring new possibilities to implement the spirit and intent of reconciliation in Canada.
- Functional bilingualism with excellent oral and written skills in either English or French.
- Experience with and understanding of non-profit organizations and community-led initiatives.
- 3-4 years' experience in program support and/or administration.
- Post-Secondary degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Indigenous frameworks and practices.
- Availability and willingness to travel.
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, humility, rigour, and transparency.
- Demonstrated commitment to positive societal and environmental change, and reconciliation.
- Ability to work autonomously, while informing and engaging colleagues as needed.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Works to address conflict effectively and in a timely manner.
- Comfortable working with senior management and members of Indigenous communities.
- Self-awareness about strengths and areas for improvement.
- Experience of public outreach work with Indigenous communities.
- Experience in budget administration.
- Understanding of the landscape and trends in the Foundation's focus areas and philanthropy in Canada.
- Experience facilitating and coordinating groups.
- Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks and processes.
