Actuarial Specialist for Workplace Safety and Insurance

We are seeking an Actuarial Specialist to join our team at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). As an Actuarial Specialist, you will play a key role in providing technical support for actuarial services, analyzing data, and developing models to inform strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for actuarial services, including data analysis, model development, and report preparation.
- Analyze claims experience and mortality studies to inform decision-making.
- Develop and maintain actuarial systems to reflect legislative, policy, or operational changes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain accurate and adequate information and facilitate effective interactions on matters requiring actuarial knowledge and expertise.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A university degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or business.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, including Excel, SQL, and actuarial modeling tools.
We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
