About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to operations personnel, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and promoting a culture of excellence within the organization.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Maintaining safe and efficient operations through proper training and communication
  • SUPERVISING hourly staff across rotating shifts
  • Promoting and leading a safe environment
  • Participating in and leading daily meetings
  • Assigning employees to specific duties on a day-to-day basis
  • Assisting in planning daily and weekly production schedules and staffing requirements
  • Troubleshooting production issues to minimize impact
  • Providing initial and ongoing training to employees in areas of safety, equipment handling, SOPs, GMP requirements, and company policies and practices
  • Inspecting all machinery for cleanliness, safety requirements, and proper setup prior to production
  • Maintaining housekeeping and sanitation standards
  • Interacting with peers from other departments to achieve common goals
  • Working with Continuous Improvement on opportunities for improvement
  • Drafting and issuing coaching/counselling and disciplines
  • Maintaining and creating accurate Standard Operating Procedures and One Point Lessons
  • Ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices and compliance standards are consistently met
  • Controlling material inventories and ensuring accuracy and prompt disposition of rejected supplies
  • Controlling and maintaining appropriate shipping documentation

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • 2-4 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience with an MRP system and Microsoft Office applications
  • Detailed knowledge of employee safety requirements in a production environment
  • Experience in SOP writing and GMP compliance in a production environment
  • Ability to work and direct others in an organized and safe environment
  • Strong inter-personal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Familiarity and comfort with computer applications
  • Innovative, adaptable, and motivated towards continuous improvement
  • Excellent reactive problem-solving skills
  • A valid driver's license
  • Supervisory experience in a unionized environment

About the Salary

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
